Parker will always have a special place in my heart. Parker was born from two Australian imports and he hit the ground running from the moment he arrived here in Canada from the USA at 9 weeks of age. We have never had a dull moment in the ring together. In a short time, handled exclusively by me (minus the ring conflicts-thanks Nicole!!) he accumulated so many wins that they are just too numerous to list, so I will just share the most memorable ones!
2008
At his first fun match he won a group one at 16 weeks old under Joe Deleo.
He then finished his Canadian championship at 13 mos old with three group 3rds in strong competition, and 2 puppy group wins along the way making him the first Border Collie to win the puppy group in Canada.
#1 Border Collie puppy in 2008, the #2 Border Collie, and the first owner/handled and Canadian owned BC to place in the group.
He is the 5th in Canada to finish a Canadian Championship, and the youngest (until he was beat by his kennel mate "Jackson" in 2010).
2009
Parker still had not been defeated in breed and he held strong for 17 months straight.
In June of 2009 Parker won the Herding group making him the first BC in Canada to ever do this! What a landmark for our breed! :)
Parker was actively shown for only 8 mos due to my university schedule and was able to hold the #1 spot for 10 months, but settled as the #2 Border Collie yet again by the end of the year! Not too shabby if I say so myself! By this time he had accumulated one group 1, one group 2, seven group 3rds, and three group 4ths and all under two years of age.
2010
We decided on a whim to send our dear Parker off with handler Reggie Moorehead and Janice Edleman so that he could finish off his American championship and he went off to compete in the very competitive Florida circuit. He finished easily in 3 months winning a group 3 and group 4 along the way! Thank you to his handlers and for the care he received while in the USA. Returning to Canada in late April 2010 Parker enjoyed his summer swimming, chasing Canada geese, and the sheep at Tucker Creek Farm, he is particularly good at this too!!
2011
"Retired" Parker from conformation, he had more then proven himself in two countries. However he had still left the herding arena untouched and I thought that it was about time that he left a paw print there too. Since he had some very nice pups on the ground and I had my hands full showing the girls at home that needed to finish, and due to my lack of experience in herding training, I sent him to the US to Deb and her trainer for the summer where he won his HT title. Hopefully this is just the start of more to come!
Parker is also fully obedience trained and we hope to finish some rally and obedience titles in
2012. He is extremely bidable doing whatever I ask of him, he also is very quick to catch on to whatever I am teaching him. He is a real treat to work with and coming home to him after a long day, and training with him, is just so much fun!
We are watching his first litters with very high hopes and believe that this truly is where his dynasty will be built. His pedigree is made up of some hard to find old Australian lines!
He is available at stud to a
VERY LIMITED number of outstanding quality bitches, on private treaty.
