Welcome to BELLACLAN Border Collies!
We are located along the beautiful shores of Lake Superior in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada. Bellaclan is dedicated to preserving and improving
this truly amazing, versatile breed!
Bellaclan dogs have pedigrees that are "walking tours" composed of some of the best conformation, herding, agility, and obedience Border Collies
in the world. First and foremost we aim to breed dogs that have excellent temperaments and are healthy. To ensure health the dogs receive all
recommended breed specific health testing before they are bred. After health we look at general structure, soundness, and movement . Lastly I
cannot stress the importance of type enough. When you look at the Border Collie it should not be mistaken for a different breed. I do enjoy
breeding for certain, colours, coat lengths and markings, but I put this LAST. I hope that with these goals in mind, I can produce sound, versatile,
intelligent, and loving Border Collies, that are beautiful to the eye!
I enjoy spending many hours daily with my dogs, whether it be training for titles or merely enjoying long hikes with them, they are always good
company. The Border Collie is now eligible to compete in Canadian Kennel Club events after the results of a poll vote in September 2007 were
released in our favour! We are members in good standing with the Canadian Kennel Club and the Northwestern Working Dog Association.
As a breeder of Border Collies for over ten years, I keep the fact in mind that my dogs are always pets first, and show dogs after. The most
important priority for me is to truly enjoy my dogs. Although I am quite competitive, winning is just icing on the cake! They are my babies, and their
babies are my grand babies, and we care about all pups and their offspring for generations to come, for their entire lifetime.
Our goals for the future include indulging ourselves in more performance events, and earning some nice obedience, rally, herding, and agility titles.
We have some very exciting new additions planned for 2010, as well as some exciting show ventures, stay tuned!
